This work is portable. It isn’t restricted to hours of meditation or to solitude, but can become a way of life. Here are some of the methods we use:
-
Internal tools and exercises that focus the attention to control imagination and create a quiet mind.
-
Being together through frequent teaching events, work projects, and cultural activities, which nourishes the part in us that wants to awaken, and helps us escape the ever-unhappy lower self.
-
External, invisible exercises that evoke the Higher Self through control of the lower self. For example, controlling gesticulation, unnecessary talk, and the expression of negative emotions.
-
Working to build and serve the school and one another, which brings us into a spacious and joyful sphere of activity in which the lower self becomes unimportant.
